Decorated with a fierce-looking dragon chasing the flaming pearl. The brightly enamelled face in turquoise, the writhing body in copper red enamel with scales in blue and yellow glazed legs and claws, further green wispy clouds with red flames all on a white enamelled glazed base. The mark written in six characters, within a double circle on the base.
A very similarly decorated dragon can be found on a Polychrome straight sided vase, plate 76, page 83 in; Porcelain in Polychrome and Contrasting Colours, in The Complete Collection of Treasures of the Palace Museum, Taiwan.
Condition: Some fritting to the rim.
