A Brightly Decorated Jar With Later Wood Cover, Wanli six character mark and of the period, 1572-1620.
Decorated in the early Ming style with Buddhist emblems with floral scrolls, underglaze blue flowers surround the central body. Ruyi style borders surround the neck with rectangular borders decorate the foot. The sixcharater mark written on the base in underglaze blue within a double circle.
Condition: Rim with old repair, faint hairline in centre of vase. Later wood cover.
